Licensed SNAP® programming

Stop Now And Plan: skills children and caregivers can use together.

Since 2015, SNAP Family Center has delivered the SNAP® program under licence with Child Development Institute. The program teaches emotional regulation, self-control and problem-solving so children can manage strong emotions and “keep problems small.”

Children’s Group

Through activities, discussion, role-play and games, children practise skills related to anger, self-control, self-esteem, fair play, bullying and peer conflict.

Caregiver Group

Running at the same time as the children’s group, caregivers learn practical parenting and communication strategies while connecting with other families.

SNAP for Schools

A 13-week school-based prevention approach that supports educators in addressing disruptive and bullying behaviours through a standardized digital tool. Contact us for availability and costs.
SNAP® is a registered trademark owned by Child Development Institute, Toronto, Canada, and is used under licence.

Individual sessions

Personalized support for the needs behind the behaviour.

Individual sessions offer focused, one-to-one support tailored to the unique needs of each child and family. Together, we address emotional regulation, behavioural challenges and parenting concerns, then develop practical strategies that support positive and sustainable change.
1

Understand the pattern

Explore what is happening, what may be contributing to it and what the family needs most right now.
2

Build a practical plan

Choose realistic strategies the child and caregivers can practise between sessions.
3

Strengthen progress

Adjust the plan as the family builds confidence, connection and new skills.

Support is adapted to the child, the caregivers and the realities of daily family life.

Focused learning for stronger relationships at home.

Our workshops turn information into useful, realistic tools that caregivers can bring into everyday family life.

Advocacy and additional support

You do not have to navigate every system alone.

A child’s well-being is shaped by home, school, health care and community. We help families understand options, communicate needs and connect with the right support.

Referrals & community connections

When a need falls beyond our scope, we help families connect with community organizations, professional services and relevant networks.
