About SNAP Family Center

Support for children, parents and the systems around them.

For 25 years, SNAP Family Center has been dedicated to supporting and strengthening families. We provide individual and group support that helps children manage emotions, reduce the impact of challenging behaviours and build stronger social skills.

Parents and caregivers receive practical strategies for communication, emotional regulation and family life. Our services also include workshops, support groups, school advocacy, referrals and crisis support.

For children aged 6 to 11, the Centre is a licensed affiliate of SNAP® — Stop Now And Plan. Over a 13-week period, children develop social and emotional skills while parents learn new strategies for managing their own emotions and parenting more effectively.

Our purpose is to give families the tools, resources and support they need to navigate challenges, work toward academic objectives and foster positive development.

Our approach

Compassionate support, grounded in structure.

Families need more than information. They need a calm place to land, a team that understands complexity and a clear path forward.

Listen and understand

We begin with each family’s context, strengths and immediate needs — not generic assumptions.

Build practical tools

Children and caregivers learn strategies they can use in everyday moments at home and at school.

Strengthen the whole system

We support the relationships around the child, including family, school and community connections.
